One of Minnie's trademarks was the baby breath flowers she wore in her hair. I wondered why. Why flowers? And why that one? The answer came from Minnie's friend Wendy Barrier, whom I quote in the book: "We were flower children, hence the baby's breath. ... It was a signature for her -- her signature! it was a reminder of the fragrant, glorious, fragile existence we all lived." So when you see me signing or selling books, you'll often see me and my friends sporting baby's breath flowers in our hair!
